Disney Paris

This (pathetically enough) has been the day here in Paris that I have been THE VERY MOST excited about! It's the day Amanda and I went to Disney Paris! Our week at the bakery seemed to go by SO slow as we waited in anticipation for our day trip. We had a confusing morning trying to figure out how to get there on the train... there are two different types of metro trains out here and we had to take both of them and transfer 4 different times. We got there though! It was THE perfect day to be there. Our afternoon started out a little chili, but the sun came out and we had about 4 hours of perfect weather. There were hardly any people in the entire park. We walked on to several rides and the longest line we waited in was for the Buzz Lightyear ride which was about 20 minutes. We were really disappointed when we found out that the Indiana Jones and Peter Pan rides were both closed down for renovation. We ate in the park twice (chicken curry sandwiches and African chicken and rice) and then walked to Earl of Sandwich located in their version of "Downtown Disney" for food after the park closed. Amanda and I both agree the park in California is better because it's bigger and has a lot more rides, but the rides here in Paris are "better" (our version of better ranging from longer, scarier or just more details). The park is also FULL of breathtaking ponds, flowers and floaty looking trees. Sleeping Beauty's castle was a lot cooler here (also smaller).. You can go to the top and go out around the castle to look out over the whole park. There are also really cool stained class panels and tapestries of the characters upstairs. If you go underneath the castle, they have "La Taniere du Dragon". Inside you'll find a yellow eyed, smoking, roaring dragon resting in a water filled cave. It would be TERRIFYING if you were a 5 year old girl. Amanda and I were border line scared as it opened it's eyes and started letting out puffs of smoke! We both agree that the very best part of the experience was the firework show at the end of the night. I thought that the show in the fountains of California Adventure were unbelievable, but this show ACTUALLY topped it! They had probably 9 or 10 different changes of scene and song all changing the castle front into something COMPLETELY different. There were fountains, lights, fireworks, singing and dancing... No Tink though. It was the perfect end to our night! We took LOTS of pictures so you California fans can see the difference... hope you enjoy!

The scariest dragon! We couldn't get a good picture because it was dark and he was moving...
